HOT FINLAND IN MADRID!!
(Spanish below)
Hi all followers of my blog!
I am here again to tell you the latest developments in the Finnish world in Madrid and my Kulttuurin Tuotanto project.
Last week I attended a lunch in a downtown, exclusive and intimate restaurant inMadrid in honor Markku Piri, renowned Finnish artist and designer who was in town for the opening of his exhibition at the Institute of Finland in Madrid . At lunch were also present Markku Keinänen (Ambassador of Finland in Spain ), Eva Hannikainen (Cultural Attache), Martti Pärssinen (director of the Institute), Sofia Rodriguez (Director of the National Museum of Decorative Arts), Paloma Pastor (Director of the Glass Museum of La Granja), Patricia Molins (Reina Sofia Museum ), Manuel Estrada (director of Central of Design Matadero Madrid ) and me.
We talked about many things, including the different situation about design in Spain and Finland, how to support the industry or not, the social and professional consideration in each country, their different relationship with art in Finland and in Spain , specially between young artists... at all times illustrated by the comments given from his long and brilliant career experience by Markku Piri. Very interesting !!... We must continue the hot debate about art and design at some point!
I attached the link of the Finnish Institute inMadrid where you can see everything about the exhibition of Markku Piri. I recommend it!

There I met other young Spanish people who were related to
I can already announce the upcoming exhibition of the young and prestigious Finnish artist
And finally I tell you that my project continues to advance. I am working full on creating a web platform KOHTAUSPAIKKA of which I have already spoken once, and I presented it in my recent participation in the seminar organized by FRAME in
It will be the prelude to a very active year

NEW RULES OF ART POLICY AND OTHER FANTASIES - Octubre a tope en Helsinki.
(English below)

NEW RULES OF ART AND OTHER FANTASIES POLICY
Active October inHelsinki .
Greetings again to all the followers of this blog.
Fresh from Helsinki I would like to share with you the rich and intense experience of the seminar, in which I’ve participated as a speaker, organized by FRAME ( http://www.frame-fund.fi/ ) last week.
Under the direction and effectiveness of Laura Köönikkä and her team, the seminar was interesting, dynamic and rich in content and proposals.
It looked like beforehand seeing the list of speakers and titles of their lectures and, really, the reality far exceeded my expectations: high quality of speakers and proposals.

We also had the opportunity to visit the new gallery space & Piippo Contemporary Kalhama and enjoy a couple of panel discussions moderated by experts that gave rise to the active public debate. Among these experts I was thrilled to find Irmeli Kokko, who in addition of a lecturer, curator and producer (in Kuvataideakatemia) is one of the founders of HIAP. A pleasure for me!
In case you want to know a little about my talk, I tell you that I structure it in three parts: a brief presentation of my artwork ( I was invited as a visual artist), a presentation of my project “Kulttuurin Tuotanto” and the final presentation as a website (KOHTAUSPAIKKA), and a presentation about “espacio trapézio” www.espaciotrapezio.org in Madrid (whose management committee you know that I am a member).
Of course, all in the midst of a clear and deliberate invitation to the art world agents to talk less, listen more and do more and better. As published in the news FRAME website: "kaikkiaan lienee Kaiken Totta, kuten GILFER ilmaisi: LESS TALK, MORE ACTION AND MORE LISTENING!" Which I think means something like "however, is probably true, as expressed GILFER : less talk, more listening and more action! ".
In addition, taking advantage of my visit toHelsinki , I had the opportunity to meet the Ambassador of Spain to Finland , Mr. Marcos Vega and his First Secretary Mr. Aiki Mauleón; they offered to me their full cooperation to make a success my project. From here: THANK YOU!
In addition, meetings with friends, artists and managers of artists associations and art spaces ... a pleasure.
And thanks from here toPaco Barragán (Spanish independent curator) and Riiko Sakkinen (Finnish visual artist living in Spain ) for their support and advice.
